Step 1
Before overlaying the existing roof system a preliminary inspection should be carried to ensure the roof structure is in a suitable condition.

Step 2
The insulation should be applied to a dry surface ensuring and loose debris is removed.

Step 3
The board can be mechanically fixed or bonded to the existing roof surface. When bonding the insulation always use a stone wool (mineral wool) compatible insulation adhesive.

Step 4
The insulation boards should be laid with staggered and tightly butted joints.  4 fixings/m2 are required when mechanically fixing the insulation.

Step 5
If required the parapets can be insulated with the rock wool board.

Step 6
When installing a bituminous waterproofing system the angle fillets can be used to ensure a smooth transition between the horizontal and vertical plains. The angle fillets should be bonded to the insulation with a compatible stone wool (mineral wool) insulation adhesive.

Step 7
Roof boards installed during the day must be covered and not left exposed to moisture or wet conditions. Adequate temporary protection must be provided above the roof boards during installation.

Step 8
The new waterproof membrane should be installed onto the recovery board in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
